I take photos and film videos of the urban environment, particularly photos and videos of vintage urban buildings. I started this work in 2020 and have taken images of thousands of buildings Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Instagram is my main platform for publishing my photos at the present time and I currently post my work on my Instagram accounts cittaaukoto_japan and cittaaukoto_se_asia. My account name “cittaaukoto” is a combination of the Italian word “citta” and the Japanese phrase “au koto” which loosely translates to English as “the thing of loving cities.” Koto is also the Tokyo ward I call home.

I have been fascinated by cities and urban environments since childhood and have spent much of my adult life observing, studying, and making my living in cities. As a child I lived in Detroit and Los Angeles and I have lived in Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Tokyo and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) as an adult.
