So, unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to take a photo of the full moon tonight, but I managed to get a few photos last night.
I had to go on a long road trip, and whilst driving through the Freestate, I was watching a distant thunderstorm. When I stopped at a petroport, I decided to take a chance and take photos of the distant thunderstorm.
I stood on the side of the quiet road listening to the rustling of the warm wind in the grass. The scene before me was incredible to witness...
The distant lightning strikes appeared red as they tore through the dark sky. Above the lightning strikes, the moon shone through from behind the clouds.
Further down the road, I stopped and took photos of another thunderstorm as it raged on. The lightning was ferocious as the lightning blitzed through the sky, highlighting the magnificent cloud structures. The howling wind was cool and exhilarating.
I took quite a few photos, but I decided to share these for now. I also included a photo of beautiful storm clouds at sunset as seen over the road around 100kms south of JHB.
I hope that you like the photos.
The lightning photos are composite images created from some of the images that I captured, which have then been overlayed to create single images, respectively, showcasing the strikes that I managed to capture.
South Africa has the most incredible beauty, and her storms are amazing. Keep looking for the beauty. It's there...
I am Proudly South African.
