Lightning and Stars over the Ocean.

About last night... I was laying in bed at around 23:00. It had been raining most of the night. The rain slowly faded out, and I could see flashes of light coming through my bedroom window. I had a look and there was some lightning over the ocean. I quickly got dressed and ran down to the beach in Umhlanga with my camera and tripod. The stopping of the rain so late meant I only had a few minutes to try and capture the lightning over the ocean before curfew at 24:00. Unfortunately I couldn't see too many actual strikes, but the flashes within the clouds, and then the stars above the moving clouds was absolutely mesmerising. I stood there for as long as I could before heading home by the start of curfew. This is the image I managed to capture. It's made of of 2 images which have been overlayed into a single composite image. You can see the passing of time by the clouds moving over the ocean. The storm at that point was around 50kms away from me... The way I see it, I'm really passionate about taking photos. So, find your passion, and let it drive you, even if it means getting out of bed in the middle of the night and running down the street... But, try and stay safe... South Africa is filled with beauty and I love capturing that beauty as best as I can... I am Proudly South African.
