Fire in the sky over Umhlanga Rocks this evening.
During the course of the afternoon, I kept an eye on the sky as I had hoped for a pretty sunset. Most sunsets are always beautiful, but to witness a truly spectacular sunset is complete luck of the draw.
Sunset was at 18:30 this evening, and I stood outside my house just before 6pm trying to figure out if I should take the chance and go out to see if we would have a pretty sunset. I decided to chance it...
As I got to the beach overlooking Umhlanga Rocks, the sky slowly started lighting up. Some of the clouds seemed to have been set alight and were floating above, like burning embers from some distant fire. The salty waves crashed onto the rocks with incredible roars as the tide came in. People were out and about enjoying the warm afternoon. The smell of a braai mixing with the salty spray of the ocean reminded me of holidays...
Moments like these are fleeting, and I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to capture them before they're gone, and to be able to share them with you.
I hope that you like them.
South African sunsets are spectacular. We truly have the most incredibly beautiful country...
I am Proudly South African.
