With heavy rain overnight all access roads out of Mt Augustus have closed. So we will be sitting here a couple more days to see what opens first and which way we will go. We made the decision to stop here as the rains were approaching as we have had a battery die, and wouldn't have been able to generate enough power to keep the freezer frozen should we find ourselves on the side of the road waiting out the rain.
We possibly could have made it to the next centre, but, why take the risk?
