Thirty $5 Starbucks cards dropped off at the Sturgeon Critical Care unit 29 (St. Albert). The triage nurse in Emergency was very lively for 2345. A quick sanitize, mask exchange, and chat and I was on my way to Unit 29.
Like RAH and WMC, I know this hospital pretty well. I'm getting better at explaining what I'm arriving at the unit for, too. "Hi...! I'm here to drop off some coffee cards for your team." Inside the unit it's very quiet, they generally have 5 ICU beds.
The unit clerk desk is in the center of the unit and from what I could see in my peripherals, there's certainly more than five rooms being used for intensive care. I put the thirty pages on the counter and the clerk said "oh wow, that's a lot."
We had a quick chat and I was on my way. With $450/$1808.28 delivered, I'm humbled with the amazing support that's been pouring in. Thank you to the SEVEN donors today.
There's still a couple formal general ICUs to go and next I'll be hitting up the EDs.
Tomorrow is the Misericordia ICU.
