Fifty $5 coffee cards delivered to the Walter C. Mackenzie Centre ICU

Well, this is it. I parked in the parkade across from the Mazankowski, through screening and up to 3C3/3C4. Called in with the phone and with a quick sanitize greeted the nurse at the desk.

When I told her what I had she stopped me and hurriedly went down the hall to grab her charge nurse. Introduced myself and told them both the story of the cards and they were very thankful. I stood and chatted with the pair of nurses for about ten minutes.

The charge expressed repeatedly just how much impact these little gestures of gratitude have. She motioned over to the wall across from the desk where they'd taped handmade cards from kids of family members who'd been treated there. I couldn't count how many there were.

This particular delivery was made possible by Brian K. His wife, Mary-Ann, was cared for at the WMC ICU in her final days and wanted to express a heartfelt thank you for all the support staff there. "They really do run on coffee," he wrote to me.

With just over 1100 critical and acute care HCWs acknowledged in 35 departments across Edmonton and Central Zones, 1390.6 km driven to deliver these thank yous, I can't thank all of the donors and others that have reached out over the course of the past two months.

A final video thank you from me: https://youtu.be/6n4o4qgpuLA

Wrapping up I wanted to give a big shout out to @BridgesCatering who have been delivering $15 meals to now three hospitals in the Edmonton Zone. If you missed the bus on #CoffeeforHCWsAB, I highly suggest you support them!
