Storytime: I Couldn’t Walk to Navagio Beach 🇬🇷😞

Jul 17, 2025

I was in Greece standing on a cliff overlooking one of the most famous beaches in the world: Navagio. You’ve probably seen it white sand, turquoise water, a shipwreck that looks straight out of a movie.

I had made it all the way there. But I couldn’t take the final steps. The path to the viewpoint was narrow, crowded, and steep and my anxiety hit hard.

My legs went weak. My chest got tight. I felt like I was going to collapse or pass out right there in front of all the tourists.

I wanted to keep going. I tried. But I physically couldn’t do it. I stood frozen, heart pounding, watching everyone else take photos like it was nothing.

So I did something I almost never do: I asked a stranger for help. I handed them my camera and said, “Could you take a photo for me? I have a bit of a fear.”

They smiled. They said yes. And they didn’t make it weird.

I didn’t get the iconic selfie at the edge. But I still got the memory. And more importantly, I honored my limits that day.
