Center T’s shelter is a temporary home for trans and non-binary people facing crisis. It offers a safe place to stay, recover, and think about what comes next without having to rush.
But real recovery requires more than a roof and an address. It requires proper sleep, quiet, personal space, and the feeling that, at least here, you can finally breathe a little easier. ❤️🩹
💧 At the moment, some shelter residents have to sleep on folding beds. They can work for a few nights, but they are not suitable for long-term rest.
Our main priority is therefore to purchase a bunk bed, single mattresses, and mattress protectors. This will give residents proper sleeping spaces while also freeing up room in the bedroom. We want the shelter to be not only safe, but genuinely comfortable and welcoming. ✨
We also need several other items to continue improving the space:
- storage containers;
- folding chairs and bar stools;
- a compact desk;
- a microwave and kettle; 🌸
- a shower rail and rubber slippers;
- light bulbs, electrical sockets, and interior door locks;
- wall paint and skirting boards;
- a first-aid kit and other essential household items.
Our first goal, however, is to replace the folding beds with proper places to sleep.
‼️ We still need to raise €1,010 in July for the bed, mattresses, mattress protectors, and other essential items for the shelter.
