QiDi MAX4 Drawer — A Place for Your Tools. More Room to Create.
Tools scattered around the printer, spare build plates leaning against the wall, and filament waste looking for somewhere to go. The QIDI MAX4 Drawer brings them together in one organized setup beneath your printer.
Designed specifically for the QiDi MAX4, this printable drawer system combines accessible storage, removable tool trays, side build plate holders, and an integrated filament waste collection system. Five front designs and optional LED lighting let you choose the look that fits your workspace.
Two front drawers, less clutter
Keep your printing essentials close at hand with two front drawers for tools and filament waste. Removable trays help organize smaller items and make it easy to take what you need to your workbench.
The waste drawer connects to the rear purge tube, directing filament waste into a dedicated collection area that you can access from the front.
Dedicated storage for your build plates
Side-mounted holders keep spare build plates upright and within reach. Swap plates when you need to and give them a proper home when you’re done, without taking up more space on your workbench.
Five front designs
Choose the finish that suits your printer and your style:
- Smooth — a clean, simple front.
- Hemispheres — a rounded, textured pattern.
- Pyramid Studs — a geometric surface with sharper detail.
- Recessed — a sculpted front with recessed detailing.
- No LED — a front without the lighting window.
Print the parts in your preferred colors to make the setup your own.
Optional lighting, inside and out
The integrated LED strip channel adds an illuminated detail across the front. Open the drawers, and the lighting also helps you see their contents.
Prefer a setup without lighting? Choose the No LED front. LED components are optional and must be sourced separately.
Rear fan muffler
The system includes a rear fan muffler designed to help reduce fan noise. It connects to the rear pipe assembly, keeping the additional component integrated into the overall design.
An optional Gridfinity layout
Want to organize your tools around your own collection of bins? A Gridfinity-compatible tool drawer is available separately as a free download, giving you another way to configure your storage.
Designed to be printed and assembled
This is a DIY project supplied as digital 3MF files, designed to be printed on the QIDI MAX4 and assembled using the hardware specified in the bill of materials.
The illustrated 34-page assembly guide walks you through assembling the printed components and installing the system. Review the guide and BOM before printing so you can prepare the required materials and hardware.
Standard PETG is the recommended material. Follow the manual’s printing guidance, paying particular attention to bed adhesion and the settings for the larger parts.
Plan your build
Reference dimensions shown for the drawer system:
- Width: 606 mm
- Main depth: 565 mm
- Additional rear projection: 95 mm
- Drawer base height: 189 mm
Allow additional room to open the drawers and access the rear assembly.
Estimated filament use for the configuration shown:
- Gray: 3.1 kg
- Blue: 1.9 kg
- Black: 800 g
- Transparent: 50 g
The page also lists 248 g for supports and purge towers and an estimated printing time of 5 days, 22 hours, and 6 minutes. Actual material use and printing time depend on your settings and selected configuration.
Developed and tested in my workshop
I designed this system to make the space around the QIDI MAX4 more useful, with the tools, plates, and waste collection accessible where you need them. The design was also load-tested in my workshop. The strength of your finished build depends on your material, print settings, print quality, and assembly.
Digital download only
You are purchasing digital 3MF files to print and assemble the project yourself. No physical product is shipped. The printer, filament, hardware, LED components, tools, and build plates shown are not included.
