Hi Gabo. Here is Sergio. At age of 43, married and with 3 little kids it is difficult to jump into the waters by I just started learning about catamarans and cruising around the world. It has always been a dream and it might happen one day. In the mean time, I appreciate good contents like your website. Good luck and Thanks for the information

Drar Gabriel, I need some advice on catamaran hullss peed limitations. A 45 t cruising catmaran like the one I just chartered in Greece (Lagoon 45 Fly) has a c9knts hull speed maximun ussng 55 hp Yanmar diesel saildrives. I am looking at a Nautitech 482 which is a thinner prifuile and 48 ft . The question I have , is most fo thsee charter catamarns have 45-55 hp dioeseils and all do c7.0-9 llnts. What doifernce would it make to use a 140-160hp diesel through a ZF saildrive? Would I get to 15 knts susing 140 hp? or does the hull lenght rule absolute. My email rogercolman@hotmail.com
