The soft breath of moonlight painted the cobblestone pathway leading up to a cozy lakeside cottage with a luminescent glow. The chill evening air smelling like comforting chimney smoke and sweet baking from the open window. A strawberry blond woman with azure blue eyes. Clad in a white wool cape, pink dress and ebony riding boots, heels clicking on the stones, made her way to the front door of yonder cottage.

"The cookies should be just cool enough to eat by now," she murmured to herself in her gentle soprano tone of voice as she reached one of her slender fingers up to her face to push a loose tendril of hair behind her ear. "I can make some Darjeeling to go with my evening snack and book."

This woman was Sakura. The owner of the cottage and sole resident. Her little sister had since moved out. Madeline was pursuing her designing career in New York. Sakura could say her elder sister figure Elizabeth lived with her given how she visited her regularly from the Montgomery estate on the hill but that would be a falsehood. Either way it brought her ease to know that family was still close if need be and she wasn't entirely alone.

Carefully she unlocked the door and stepped into her warm toasty cottage and breathed a sigh of relief at the heat radiating through her body. Winter was nice, but she was like her namesake, a spring flower. As she placed her cape on the hook and put on her slippers by the entryway she smiled a gentle smile. She was finally home for the day to stay.

Sakura stretched her arms up above her head and felt her bones crackle and pop from the effort. Her meeting, a soiree, took a lot out of her some nights. Dignitaries, lords and ladies would scoff at her if they saw her in her casual state at that moment. But she cared not a lick, she was done making small talk and diplomatic declarations for the evening.

All she wanted was her warm nightdress and to cuddle up in a blanket by the fireplace. To that end she used her nature magic to transform her attire to that wool nightdress versus heading up the short flight of stairs to her room and loosened her shoulder-length hair out of its bindings for the night. It was then and only then did her stomach feel free enough to rumble sounds of protest at how hungry it was.

Normally a soiree would have food, no? It would stand to reason that it would. However food was a construct, meant as decoration, for guests who were over centuries old and did not need to eat. Nor would eat even if they could. It was frowned upon. Why eat when you could dance and share conversation (or intel)?

Sakura made her way into the kitchen and served herself a plate of peanut butter chocolate cookies from the warming basket before starting on her pot of Darjeeling. While she waited for the tea to brew she moved to the living room where she had laid her romance novel and fleece blanket on her comfy armchair by the fire. She hoped to get a few more chapters in before bed.

"I wonder if the knight will return for the maiden.", she pondered excitedly, her azure eyes a glow, as she plopped down in the chair crossing her legs under her and draping the blanket around her. "I certainly hope so." The book she was reading was a time travel romance where the protagonists were separated by the ages and have to find a way to reunite.

And this is how our protagonist ended her day.
