I'm Carmen Parsons, and I'm so pleased you've stopped by.

Art has always been more than just a hobby for me—it's my way of expressing emotions, capturing moments, and sharing the beauty I see in the world around me. Every time I stand in front of a blank canvas, I begin a new journey. Sometimes I have a clear vision of where I'm heading, while other times I simply let the paint, colour and texture guide me. That's one of the things I love most about working with acrylics: they allow me the freedom to experiment, layer, blend and create something that is completely unique.

Over the years I've developed my own approach to painting by combining a variety of acrylic techniques. I enjoy building texture, experimenting with colour, creating depth through layering, and using different brushes, palette knives and other tools to achieve finishes that can't be reproduced by machines or prints. Every painting develops its own personality, and no two pieces are ever exactly alike. That's part of the magic of creating original art.

For me, a painting isn't simply something to hang on a wall. It has the ability to bring warmth into a room, spark conversations, stir emotions and become part of someone's everyday life. I love knowing that a piece I've created may become part of a family's home, brighten a workplace, celebrate a special occasion or simply bring a smile each time someone walks past it.

Every piece is painted by hand using professional acrylic paints on canvas. I never rush the creative process because I believe great art deserves patience. Some paintings come together quickly, while others evolve over many days as colours are adjusted, layers are added and the composition slowly reveals itself. I enjoy every step of that journey, and I hope you can feel a little of that passion in each finished piece.

I have recently moved forward with Blooms and Scribbles which creates original acrylic paintings on canvas that celebrate large floral still lifes — generous pots overflowing with flowers — while giving children’s drawings a permanent and cherished place within the artwork.

Each piece is a collaboration between skilled painting and the spontaneous, heartfelt marks of a child. The drawings are carefully selected, cut out, and thoughtfully collaged so they become part of the composition.
