ΠΡΠ΄ΠΎΠΌΠΎΡΡΡ David Alvarado
writing (mostly) about books.
Hello. My name is David Alvarado. I'm the writer of a literary column called Curse That DA. As mentioned above, mostly I write about books. Sometimes I write about music, movies, basketball. And sometimes I write things that are harder to classify.
Most pieces are pocket-size and avoid the standard form of the book review. A description of Horace's work fits mine pretty well and roughly translates to: weird chitchat.Β
It's not my style to barrage readers with daily content. Instead I write a piece here and there, designed to withstand the barrage. For those who demand more, there's a growing archive available to all.
Readers will also find a link to the site's official YouTube page, featuring thoughtfully assembled playlists of hot tracks from yesterday and...today! Musical accompaniment for reading or other activities. Could be jazz. Could be K-pop. Could be punk. Or something else. As in reading and movies, my tastes are varied. And every year I select some hot tracks to commemorate it.
If you like the column, if it becomes, in some small way, a salutary part of your life, and if you don't actually curse me, consider supporting it.Β
Thank you,
DA
