We’ve teamed up with our friends Coaltown Coffee who are based in Ammanford in Wales, which has a rich coal mining history, similar to our land. Our land was once the home to hundreds of coal miners, who used to work at the colliery across the road, in fact Jon's grandad worked at this exact mine. Coaltown Coffee is based in another ex-mining town where Anthracite coal (known back then as black gold) fuelled their local economy, but when the last of the collieries closed, it left a lot of Wales without any work. So Coaltown wanted to bring a new industry and jobs to their community by creating a new version of ‘Black Gold’ with the launch of their incredible coffee and roastery, and we’ve teamed up with Coaltown to create our own ‘Camp Out West’ coffee, hand roasted in Wales. In 2019, Coaltown became one of the first b-Corp certified coffee companies in the UK, Which means that we are now morally and legally committed to prioritising responsibility to the environment and society.
