We are Alyson and Luka: Welcome to our Home! In October 2023, we purchased our first home: a small wooden and limestone, derelict cottage in a quiet hillside village in the region of Zasavje, Slovenia. The house was built in 1795 and occupied until 2004. Following the death of the last owner, the doors were locked, leaving the entire house intact and unloved. With the help of our community, family and travel volunteers, we are restoring, rebuilding and reinforcing this beautiful, unique piece of architecture from the ground up. Using original building methods and modern tools, we are creating a one-of-a-kind home, and restoring this special building in the amazing little cottage it once was. Join us as we learn, fail, succeed, one small project at a time!
