If you're here, you're hopefully familiar with my Twitch or bsky presence. If not, welcome! My name is A Byrd and I enjoy creating many things. Some of the things I'm creating:
-Far North Novels-
This is a long-term project I started many years ago during NaNoWriMo 2010. While it has come a long way in ideation from that point, it's been nearly 11 years since I wrote anything for it. During NaNoWriMo 2021 that all changed.
This is a series of four books following a young woman looking for answers in her past and an relatively young vampire man trying to escape his. Bound together by their shared connection to the frozen North, the two find themselves thrown into things they were never ready to confront.
In this first book, we meet Vic and Robert. Plagued by a deeply unhinged figure from his past, Robert is faced with having to make a decision to either continue to run or face the inevitable. At the same time, Vic finds herself pulled into a world far beyond her darkest nightmares.

It started as a way for me to yap about the games I was interested in...and it's just continued to grow!
Thanks to streaming and being a part of a wonderful indie creative world, I get to enjoy reviewing a variety of indie games for you all to discover. Farm sims, puzzle games, visual novels and more! In this current landscape where major studios are becoming more hostile to the developers that make the games their studio depend on, I want to uplift as many small devs and indie groups as possible.
If you're looking for a new game or want a bit more info before making a purchase, I may have an article for you!

-Streams-
Every Sunday and every other Thursday at 1830EST/EDT I stream an adventure game, puzzle game, or point-and-click game. While I'm primarily only on Twitch, I am experimenting with dual streaming to other platforms and will update with that information once it's available.
There are no benefits to subscribing to my streams using Twitch. I already have ads turned off for viewers and do not do subscribers only streams. That said, if you enjoy my streams and would like to contribute to me continuing to be able to stream, there is a $5/month membership tier available here to replace the need to subscribe on Twitch.
Additionally, twice a year I host a fundraising stream series around the summer and winter solstices! We check out a variety of games, do some chat plays games, and raise funds for causes I care about. In the past we've raised money for: The Adult Congenital Heart Association, The Malaria Consortium, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. I hope you'll join us in raising money for these and other worthwhile causes!

Mostly a catch-all for all the other writing I end up doing!
I write articles about things that interest me or are tickling my brain. Sometimes I might share new art. There may even be some new short stories to share from time to time.
