Über Kayss
Hey, I’m Kayss.
I was born and raised in Canada, and this began as a solo overland journey after shipping my 18-year-old BMW across the ocean. Somewhere along the way, the focus shifted. The road stopped being the point, and returning to my roots became the reason.
That pull led me to Iraq, my motherland, not just to document a journey, but to build something that lasts.
I’m starting with small, practical projects that can grow into real impact. A neighbourhood convenience store, rooftop gardens, clean-up efforts, and local experiments around food, water, and self-sufficiency. These are the foundations. The long-term goal is to contribute meaningfully to Iraq’s food security, water security, and energy future.
Here’s how support on this page works.
For every donation, $15 or 30 percent, whichever is greater, is used to plant a fruit tree. Each tree is planted locally, logged with GPS coordinates, and added to a public register showing how many trees have been planted and who helped make them happen. Donors can choose to be listed or remain anonymous.
The remaining funds are invested directly into my projects. Any project that becomes profitable commits 20 percent of its proceeds back into these impact efforts. In other words, donations are used to build sustainable income generators that continue giving long after the initial contribution.
If you’d like your support to go toward a specific project or cause, just leave a note and I’ll direct it there.
This is a long road, but it’s one I’m committed to walking with intention.
Thanks for being part of it.
