We created BuddyBoardGames to help friends and families easily connect over games during the COVID lockdown. We wanted to play with our loved ones but we all had trouble with existing sites that required sign-ins, payments, app downloads, and the like.

Because of this, we're proud to offer our site for free with no subscriptions or sign-ins - nothing to get in the way of jumping into the game.

Team BuddyBoardGames is fueled by coffee! Your support helps us get that caffeine boost we need to build more games, address feedback and generally keep things going smoothly.

A small thank you for supporters 💗

As a thank you to supporters, we offer optional supporter only extras. These are small additions that live alongside the free games. One time supporters receive access for a limited time, while monthly Buddies receive ongoing access for as long as they are a member.

These extras are simply our way of saying thanks for helping keep BuddyBoardGames running smoothly. Supporters also enjoy an ad-free experience while playing.

Supporters receive access to a small set of optional extras that help room hosts manage games more easily. These features appear in Room Settings and are marked with a heart icon.

Currently available for room hosts:

- Remove Player: Remove a player from the room if someone needs to leave early or disconnects

- Spectate: Start the game as a spectator while remaining the host and watching the game

- Change Theme: Switch the visual theme for the room. A winter theme is currently available

To access these features, create a room and click the gear icon next to the room name at the top of the screen.
