Listing an event is free and always will be. Nobody has ever paid to be recommended here, and nobody ever will — that's the whole reason a recommendation is worth anything.
What it does cost is hosting, the tooling that keeps hundreds of listings accurate and forward-dated, and a lot of hours checking a night is still on before we send anybody out to it.
