On September 8th, 2013, we held our first church service of our new church in our living room. We didn't know anyone. Thankfully, we were a total of 15 that day. Now, 10 years later, and we are running an average of 100 each week. We have approx. 20 disciplers and 40 disciples. It's amazing what God has done these past 2 yrs.
For 8 yrs we were simply in the wrong side of Mexico City, which is the largest city in all of Latin America and the 5th largest in the entire World. It's just so much harder to build something big from scratch in this city and since we moved to the township of Cuauhtémoc, we have doubled in 1 year.
This past Sunday, Sep. 10th, 2023, we had a beautiful celebration where we had a red carpet, a section for interviews, and a dressed up dinner. Everyone showed up in their best clothes and looked amazing! Scott gave a powerful challenge to go another 10 yrs, but at a greater level.
Gloria and Jenny sang a song each, which just melted the peoples' hearts. We believe God is planning to do something great in Mexico City and that our best days are yet to come. Please pray for us as we are starting a new church plant 1.5 hrs away and will be "losing" 30 people (1/3 of the church) — we will be doubling our expenses and yet not doubling our people, because it will take some time for both churches to grow and bring in more people. But we trust God is pleased at our Kingdom furthering efforts and will reward our sacrifice.
