Acerca de Brown Bag Lit
a community of writers
Brown Bag Lit is an online writing community co-founded by Chloe Yelena Miller and Shasta Grant - two friends that met in the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence College twenty years ago.
We launched Brown Bag Lit with the hope of creating a warm and inviting community of writers - one welcome to writers of all stages and ages. It doesn't matter if you're pre-MFA, post-MFA, or don't know what an MFA is. You're welcome here.
Brown Bag Lit offers online classes, a weekly accountability group, writing coaching & developmental editing, as well as free events with published writers and industry insiders. If you'd like to help support the cost of running these events (web hosting, Zoom accounts, book purchases, etc), please consider buying us a coffee! We hope to one day be able to pay the authors for these events.
If you're looking for a writing community, you've come to the right place. We hope you'll consider joining our Lunch Break Writing accountability group. We meet on Wednesdays (moving to Tuesdays in 2026!) from 12pm - 1:30pm EST to write together and hold each other accountable. Membership comes with bonus content that we'll continue to update!
If you'd like to register for one or our classes, join Lunch Break Writing, or sign up for coaching and/or editorial services, please visit our Shop page. More details can be found on our website.
Thank you!
Chloe & Shasta
