There was a time when my husband and I thought we had reached the finish line.
After years of hard work, sacrifice, and building a successful business, we were finally retired. We had plans, dreams, and a future we were excited to embrace.
Then, on August 5, 2024, everything changed.
Through deception, fraud, and broken trust, we lost nearly everything we had spent decades building.
The financial loss was devastating, but the emotional impact was even greater. The embarrassment. The heartbreak. The uncertainty. The feeling of having to start over when we thought we had already earned our freedom.
Instead of enjoying retirement, I found myself returning to work full-time.
There were days when it felt impossible.
Days when I wondered how we would make it through.
But even in the darkest moments, a small flame remained.
That flame became Broken But Unbreakable.
