Not everyone who calls themselves an angel truly is one —
some are more like devils in disguise.
They enter our lives with a grand entrance,
wearing mass-produced halos they probably bought online.
They would say all the right things.
Everything about them shimmers like gold in the heavenly city… until the fake gold foil starts to peel off — or situations just got bad.
And when we reach out in desperation, poof — they vanish like a cheap magic trick.
Ghosting us in our darkest hour, just when we need them the most.
But then—there are the quiet ones.
They come without noise, without any fanfare.
They never seek attention or praise.
They simply notice the ache in us… and choose to stay.
No spotlight. No fireworks.
Just kindness.
Just a gentle presence holding us together while we’re falling apart.
They ask for nothing in return, yet give us everything we didn’t know we needed.
These quiet souls—humble, steady, full of heart—
they are the true angels among us.
And often, we don’t even realize they saved us…
until much later.
I don’t mean to speak badly of anyone —
but there does need to be a clear distinction between these two kinds of people.
Most of the time, we don’t even realize we were helped or that we were abandoned —
because it all happens so quietly, almost under the radar.
And when it’s quiet like that,
we may have unintentionally taken things — or these angels in our lives — for granted.
But when we pause to reflect, it becomes clear:
there’s a huge difference between how people show up during good times
and how they act when everything starts to fall apart.
That’s when the truth reveals itself —
not in the light, but in the dark.
A quiet dedication to those who know who they are —
I know you don’t need the spotlight on you,
but from the bottom of my heart…

Their lights shining brighter than ever
Celestial being made from stardust and moonlight. They move among us, disguised as mortals. Blurring the lines between heaven and earth.
their wings
spreading wide
offering a haven
providing shelter
for those in need
a comforting respite
from the compassionate
heart they bear
with an
embrace
so gentle
sweeping grace
guiding me
in each step
of the way
with kindness
putting my heart
at ease
wishing joy
for others
they are the beacon
that brightly shines
allowing compassion
to be the guide
in uplifting others
their light
shine even
brighter

For me, writing isn't just my craft; it's my sole way of working. As someone navigating multiple chronic illnesses with frequent medical treatments at various hospitals and clinics, my routine often leaves me with little energy or capacity for much else.
As an autistic individual with a severe anxiety disorder, holding a conventional job is almost an impossible feat—a sad reality that is a stark contrast to how I used to be able to function. These days, even an unexpected phone call can throw me into disarray, let alone stepping out the door.
Despite these immense challenges, they have, unexpectedly, opened new doors. In a way, being chronically ill has been a blessing in disguise, granting me the space and courage to pursue writing.
You could say I'm an unknown and perpetually poor writer (not everyone can be J.K. Rowling!).
I juggle inconsistent odd remote jobs alongside the limited income my writing generates on different platforms.
