Who we are and what we do:

In a world of moral insanity and spiritual cloudiness, God’s Word shines a path for us to walk (Psalm 119:105). Here at Bridging the Bible, we build bridges connecting biblical truth to your everyday life. We navigate the front lines of culture with truth that transforms. We are here to help you follow Jesus.

We create Christian content to Edify, Educate, Exhort, Encourage, and Equip you. We shine a light on what following Jesus looks like in the midst of a culture that does the opposite.

What makes us unique:

We hope to fill a niche in the online conservative Christian content space by being driven first and foremost by following Jesus, rather than being driven by culture or by commentating only on cultural trends/events. As we go about discussing how to follow Jesus, we address kitchen table issues while we interact with the Word. Our goal is to sincerely help you grow spiritually and follow Jesus faithfully. We go deep into the Bible and theology, but in a way that is easy to understand and in a way that feels relevant to day-to-day life.

We are normal people with 9-5 jobs in the real world. We speak in an ordinary relatable way that’s easy to understand. We are educators at heart, and we don’t make videos for clicks. We believe we can help because we talk about stuff that matters to you and we understand the challenges you face since we face them too.

We keep things simple.

We make the complex reachable. We major on the majors. We’re grounded in the gospel. We point you to Christ.

We apply the Bible.

We believe God’s Word provides the foundation for morality and ethics. We care about interpreting the Bible correctly. We make it a priority to apply God’s Word to important topics and relevant everyday issues you currently face. We have a heart for Bible-centered discipleship, especially in contrast to woke culture and popular worldly mindsets.

We are discerning and balanced.

We have been developing a well-rounded biblical worldview. We have a unique background in a variety of Christian churches and traditions that we feel gives us unique insight into the bigger landscape of the Body of Christ. In addition to practically emphasizing friendship with God, we are unwaveringly committed to historical biblical orthodoxy. We have formal training in Bible and theology from one of the few remaining seminaries that is still committed to the inerrancy of scripture. We value learning and are students of history. We read lots of books, for fun! We keep our ears to the ground. We are in tune with what’s going on and we stay informed. We do our homework. We have a refreshing approach to what we do. We enjoy explaining different views to help you think for yourself. We are charitable. We educate in a manner that unifies. We value unity in the Body of Christ, but we don’t diminish truth for unity’s sake. We are not afraid to call balls and strikes. We speak truth in love. We are motivated by love.

Substack is the main hub for our articles because the platform is for writers and we like the email newsletter format.

Our video podcasts will be on YouTube and Rumble, and check for audio-only podcasts on Apple Podcasts and Spotify later on in 2025.

In addition to liking, sharing, or subscribing, you can make a one-time donation here on Buy Me a Coffee, or you can sign up for monthly donations on Patreon. Bridging the Bible is an online ministry that provides all its content for free on Substack, yet there are folks who might want to help support what we do. The point of accepting optional donations is for Bridging the Bible to be a long-term self-sustaining ministry that can continue into the future while improving the quality of the content as we go along. This practice of content creators accepting donations through independent platforms like Patreon is common practice nowadays in the world of online digital Christian content creation.

Why we accept donations:

We do not expect people to donate financially. We just want to help people follow Jesus and to get God’s truth out to people in a way they can understand. The notion of financially supporting, partnering with, or donating to reputable ministries within the Body of Christ is biblical (1Corinthians 9:14, 3John 8, 1Timothy 5:17), which is contrasted to money-grubbing crooks who peddle the Word of God for selfish gain (2Corinthians 2:17). It’s okay to have a mechanism in place to receive people’s cheerful generosity (2Corinthians 9:7-13, 1Timothy 6:18). Jesus, the disciples, and Paul utilized people’s donations at times for the work of the ministry (Luke 8:3, 1Corinthians 16:2, Philippians 4:16).

Is Bridging the Bible a non-profit organization? No, we are not. That might change in the future down the road, but for now we are small. We are simply content creators who treat any donations received through Substack as self-employment income that is designated and used for ministry expenses such as: equipment (microphones, mic stands, camera, lighting, cables, etc), licensing copyright protection fees for music, audio-video recording/editing software, and continuing theological education like books and training resources.

Who creates the content?

Colin and Rachelle became Christians as adults at the end of college, then they met at church, and got married in 2016. They have a passion for Christian discipleship and for helping people live for Jesus with a biblical worldview. Colin aspires to be a vocational pastor, professor, and to write books that help Christians. Colin reads non-fiction books for fun and is passionate about helping people live healthy transformed lives through God’s grace. Colin will graduate from Phoenix Seminary with an MA in Christian Ministry in 2025 and plans to finish his MDiv after. Rachelle is a Jesus-loving artist who loves to paint, write poetry, and can often be found reading in front of the fireplace with a cat on her lap. Rachelle loves the original languages of the Bible and has a passion for truth. Rachelle will graduate from Phoenix Seminary with an MA in Bible and Theology in 2026.
