I am switching gears today. Yesterday we looked at a gingerbread house, but today I found myself drawn to this painting of penguins. It feels appropriate because I have been in the middle of a Madagascar marathon with my kid… watching the "Penguins of Madagascar" scheme their way through impossible situations. If you know the movies, you know the line: "Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave."
It is a surprisingly relevant mantra for the week we are having. We are currently living through a moment that feels increasingly surreal… almost cartoonishly dark. We have government agencies launching websites that look like tabloids, cabinet officials hiding war crimes tapes, and political appointees getting evicted by federal judges. It is chaotic, it is loud, and it is designed to overwhelm you.
But I like the penguin energy. They look cute and harmless on the surface, but underneath, they are a highly organized tactical unit. They don't panic when the ship goes down; they just figure out how to hijack the lifeboats. That is the vibe we need right now. We don't have to be loud to be effective. We just need to be paying attention, taking notes, and refusing to freeze. So, let’s channel our inner Skipper and break down the situation report.

The courts are currently the only thing standing between the administration and total consolidation of power, and today they pushed back… hard.
