Why We Left Asperger’s In The Past

Jan 10, 2023

A lot of people are aware that the medical board threw out the diagnosis “Asperger’s.” Many people including myself until recently aren’t aware why.

The diagnosis is named after the man, Hans Asperger. He was an Austrian paediatrician in 1944 and coined the term after observing autistic children.

The problem lies within his history. He had a close relationship with the Nazi regime and assisted with their euthanasia programme.
