Do You Ever have a Recurring Dream?

Do You Ever have a Recurring Dream?

Oct 14, 2024

I love the nights that bring me to a space of dreamland where I know that I feel deep into a state of sleep that allows my spirit to work through all of the things that my human brain cannot quite comprehend during the waking hours.

Each dream I have, I appreciate. I even appreciate the ones that show me the dark places in my life that need some focus on. You know what I mean; those things in our life that we simply don't want to deal with right now for we are in survival mode. This means we must only focus on what we can handle and control right now today.

We focus our minds like this for days, weeks, months, and sometimes years until finally we are so exhausted that our dreams come nudging at us to make a change ... or else! I've never quite found out about the "what else", or maybe I have but my perception of real life caused me to see it as a life lesson rather than some "punishment".

Punishment or life lesson; if we have a recurring dream perhaps it is telling us something that we must consider. Perhaps this recurring dream is of a future plan or maybe it's about a current dilemma that your spirit wants you to address. There are far too many types of recurring dreams for me to get into, but here's a little list of dream types I found on Healthline:

  • Falling Dreams

  • Recurring Dreams

  • Daydreams

  • False Awakening Dreams

  • Lucid Dreams (my favorite)

Today I wanted to talk more about recurring dreams that seem to guide you toward a direction in life that is of passion and skills. Such as my recent dream that I cannot stop thinking about. I have this dream over and over again and it's about helping dogs like my sweet Tyson who usually go overlooked at most shelters.

Isn't he a cutie patootie? He is. But the thing is? His type of breed is often overlooked. Let's face it, any terrier breed is hyperactive. Prior to taking Tyson in, I actually said "I don't want a terrier breed" and then I went and got this amstaff terrier mix. He's been quite a learning experience and he is a handful.

He isn't the handful that some dogs can be. In fact we've worked with him a lot and continue to do so. He is getting better with each social interaction. He is nervous of new adult friends, but he does listen to commands and take treats from new adult "friends". He even make a semi-friend in Vermont one day on our motorhome adventures trip.

If given a chance, these dogs can be the most affectionate dogs. They will have your back. They will shake a lot from anxiety, excitement, and cold. It's on you to learn how to read your dog. A dog of any breed type can be quite a pain in the butt if left to figure out their domesticated world on their own.

Dogs look to their human for guidance, commands, and rewards to know that they made the choice you wanted. Dogs love having a human commander, in fact, I am happy to report that these dogs are my pack and will curl up one on each side of me while I lay down just to be near me. They love their family, but it seems I have a special way with them and I am honored that each chose to be with me & the family.

I know my older dog, a german shepherd mix adores my daughter, so whenever the firstborn adult kiddo can visit he is just out of control happy. I can't even say Sissy or Sis out loud for he thinks my daughter is here. He is that in love with my daughter!

With that said, he is my velcro dog. See him above? Isn't he a stoic fellah? He was born on Christmas Day and will be three years old in 2024. Both of my dogs are far different than my sweet Jenny the pug was for the many years we had her until she passed at age 13, but they are loved big.

My dream is about dogs, and unwanted pets who often go without a real human connection, and the dream is something that includes jobs and volunteer opportunities for those who love dogs as much as me, and is not a shelter, rather it is a home for unwanted pets - mostly dogs. And this month, October 2024 starts my onset of raising funds and placing small amounts of cash aside for each task or job I complete.

Whether I walk your dogs, pet sit, house sit, or write your next story online or in book form, 25-50% of all of my earnings from this month forward will be headed towards making this recurring dream a reality. It is important to me, and it will become reality .... but for now I continue to write and spread awareness about how dogs can change your life for the better.

I spread awareness about how all dog breeds have their quirks, and how you can work with, rather than against, "dogs with quirks" in a way that's loving, compassionate, and firm. I'm not a dog trainer, doubt I ever will be officially one of those humans, but I do notice the emotional mental side of dogs and that is the angle I will continue to focus on each time I am able to be connected with dogs.
