OUR ROOTS
Harlem symbolized the urbanization of African America since the 1920s . Home to the largest popuation of African Americans in the country who settled outside the South. Bringing life to the literary and artistic movement known as the Harlem Renaissance. Its creators were in the vanguard of an attempt to come to terms with black urbanization. They lived their creativity and wrote about it. Some think over the last 20 years Harlem lost its soul & white washed from the gentrification of middle America. But here we are 100 years removed from the original Harlem Renaissance, we want you to introduce you to a new generation of style, a new generation of creators, artists, movers and shakers hailing from the first FREE black community in the USA, a new Harlem.
