I started this account with nothing but an inner pull, a continuous nudge that said, “Express yourself… say something.”
I didn’t know what I was doing or where it would lead. I just knew I wanted to share. One post at a time, one idea at a time, it started to take shape slowly, quietly, and very imperfectly.
At first, it was fun. Every new follower, every like, every comment felt like a celebration. But somewhere along the way, something shifted. I decided to take it seriously, to treat this account like a business.
That’s when the real work began.
I gave up TV and late nights so I could wake up early and focus. I had imposter thoughts, but I shook them off. I didn’t have all the answers, but I had conviction and commitment. I studied, I learned, and I kept trying even when things didn’t work. I sacrificed comfort and time because I believed in my vision and what I was building.
Then life got harder.
When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it would’ve been easy to stop. To take a step back. To say, “Maybe later.”
But instead, I decided to lean in. That season slowed me down… but it also opened me up.
It pushed me to show up more honestly, to share my real life, not just the polished parts.
It helped me connect with people in a deeper, more human way.
This account grew, not because I had a perfect strategy from day one, but because I kept showing up when it was quiet, when it was slow, when it stopped being fun.
I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from motivation, it comes from commitment.
From doing the work long after the excitement wears off.
