Hello Community!
Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Leanna Garcia, I am a bobsleigh athlete, have a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and have recently left my full time job to pursue my athletic career.
For the last three years I have represented Team Canada as a bobsleigh brakewoman (the main pushing athlete at the back of the sled). My journey with Team Canada has been a dream, and I’m very grateful to the team and Bobsleigh Canada for their support. Recently I was presented with the opportunity to compete for Team Spain as their first competitive bobsleigh athlete since 1968 and first ever female. In doing so, I will be bringing bobsleigh back to Spain and pioneering the women's team. This exciting change also means I will be transitioning from brakewoman to pilot (athlete who ‘drives’ the sled at the front).
Now, more than ever, I am determined to dedicate myself to this sport and to represent my Spanish heritage on the world stage at the 2026 Olympic Games. I invite you to be a part of this incredible journey, as I strive to turn this dream into a reality.

¡Permítanme presentarme! Mi nombre es Leanna García, soy atleta de bobsleigh, tengo una licenciatura en Kinesiología y recientemente he dejado mi trabajo a tiempo completo para dedicarme a mi carrera atlética.
Durante los últimos tres años he representado al Equipo Canadá como freno de bobsleigh (la atleta principal que empuja en la parte trasera del trineo). Mi experiencia con el Equipo Canadá ha sido un sueño, y estoy muy agradecida al equipo y a Bobsleigh Canadá por su apoyo. Recientemente se me ha presentado la oportunidad de competir para el Equipo España como su primera atleta de bobsleigh competitiva desde 1968 y la primera mujer en la historia. Al hacerlo, llevaré el bobsleigh de vuelta a España y seré pionera del equipo femenino. Este emocionante cambio también significa que pasaré de freno a piloto (la atleta que "conduce" el trineo en la parte delantera).
Ahora, más que nunca, estoy decidida a dedicarme a este deporte y a representar mi herencia española en el escenario mundial en los Juegos Olímpicos de 2026. Les invito a formar parte de este increíble viaje, mientras me esfuerzo por convertir este sueño en una realidad.
