At just 20 years old, Yana dreamed of studying filmmaking.
Then came February 2022.
While many her age were planning careers and chasing dreams, Yana made a different choice. In 2023, she entered the National Army Academy and became an artillery cadet.
In an era of drones, she chose artillery.
"A drone can be jammed. A 155mm shell can't."
But her reason goes deeper than technology.
"I'm here because I want to live in Ukraine. I can't and won't stand aside."
A generation that should have been building its future is now defending it.
