Empowerment in the Everyday

imageWeekly Recap

This past week, I have been focusing on fostering resilience, redefining setbacks, and nurturing a community through lived experiences of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Each post offered not just emotional validation, but also tangible strategies and support for both those living with pain and their carers.

Living with CRPS or chronic pain means your energy comes in bursts - and so does your support.

That’s why I’ve created a YouTube Shorts channel filled with short, heartfelt videos designed for those moments when you just can’t read another article or scroll another feed.

Each video is:

  • Just 25 seconds

  • Calming, empowering, or just a quiet reminder that you're not alone

  • Made with people like us in mind—real bodies, real lives, real strength

Sometimes you’ll see a reflection of your day.
Sometimes a flicker of hope.
Sometimes it’s just Billy (my assistance dog) doing his job being adorable and grounding 💛🐾

📲 Pop over to YouTube Shorts. Subscribe, comment, or just watch silently. That’s more than enough.

Your presence means everything. Even on days when you can’t leave the bed - know this channel is waiting with kindness.

Gentleness as Strength
Billy and I have also explored the radical power of gentleness - how choosing patience and self-kindness in a world that demands endurance is itself an act of resilience. Supporters were encouraged to reframe “rest” as part of healing, not weakness.

  1. A Setback Isn’t the End
A visual post showed a pause in the path - not an end. The message: setbacks are part of a non-linear healing journey. Comments reflected on how this reminder helped reduce self-blame after flare-ups.

  2. Even a Flicker Can Guide You
This poetic post embraced hope in micro-moments. Many related to clinging to a spark, whether a kind message, a wag of Billy’s tail, or a good cup of tea; during harder days.

  3. You’re Not a Burden
This message resonated deeply. The post tackled internalized guilt, reminding readers their value isn’t diminished by needing help. It opened space for heartfelt comments from carers and friends alike.

  4. You’re Moving Through the Unimaginable
A raw acknowledgment of invisible strength. The post honored the quiet daily courage of those living with chronic pain. A video short complemented this message, visually reinforcing the invisible battles behind each step forward.

  5. Speak Up for What You Need
Empowerment through advocacy. This piece encouraged readers to ask for the care they deserve, whether from a GP, physio, or friend. Community feedback emphasized how validating it felt to hear that asking is strength - not selfishness.

  6. Tip of the Week – Reflection as a Friend
The final story post illustrated a figure walking alone - then realizing their reflection was silently cheering them on. A metaphor for unseen support from fellow warriors and loved ones, many commented how this brought tears and comfort.

Thanks for contributing, Billy and I need your support with comments, donations or sharing... thank you so much!
