When you hear the phrase "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ," what comes to mind? What does it mean to think and act like Jesus? Philippians 2:6-8 offers a glimpse into the mindset of Jesus: "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross."

Building a Christ-centred company culture involves bringing this same attitude of humility, service, and obedience into your business. Colossians 3:17 reminds us that whatever we do, we should do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father. This scripture guides us to infuse our business practices with Christ's values, fostering an environment where love, compassion, and servant leadership thrive.

A Christ-centred culture emphasizes treating others with respect and empathy, as encapsulated in Matthew 22:39, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself." This commandment encourages us to create a workplace where employees feel valued and cared for, contributing to a harmonious atmosphere.

Integrating prayer, worship, and ethical practices into the business can further reinforce a Christ-centred approach.

Do you typically seek God's guidance before deploying a business strategy or deciding whom to hire? If not, now is the perfect time to start. Consider allowing Christ to be one of your board members, guiding you toward wise decisions and business prosperity.

By aligning your business with the teachings of Christ, you create a culture rooted in integrity, humility, and grace. This alignment not only fosters a positive work environment but also brings resilience in the face of challenges, reminding us of the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Embracing a Christ-centred approach can transform your business, allowing it to become a beacon of light that honours God while serving others.

Prayer for the Week

Dear Father, let the fruit of the spirit - love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control be evident in my business dealings. Let my testimony be that I am Christ-centred in everything I do and let His name be glorified in my life and business.
