Manuel Fernández García

Today we introduce you to our guitarist:

Manuel Fernández García is a Galician guitarist from the region of Valdeorras (Ourense, Spain). His interests have made him search within the versatility of his instrument, becoming interested not only in the classical repertoire but also in contemporary language, as well as other musical genres such as jazz, rock, pop, etc.

At present, Manuel feels attracted to exploiting the possibilities offered by the guitar and applying them in interdisciplinary projects. In his musical proposal, Manuel explores his instrument from other approaches such as percussion and the sound of the electric guitar, with works by Giacinto Scelsi, Tristan Murail, Steve Reich and Fausto Romitelli among others. 

Manuel completed his guitar studies at the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country (Musikene) with Professor Marco Socías and has just completed a Master's Degree in Solo Performance at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid with Professor Pedro Mateo. He is currently studying the Master of Arts in Music at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp with Professor Nico Couck.
