Rod Carr has spent decades building, sailing, designing, and making sails for model yachts. He was also one of the nine people involved in forming the American Model Yachting Association in 1970. In this conversation, Rod reflects on much more than model boats. We talk about craftsmanship, problem solving, the influence of his father, mentoring newcomers, the friendships that grow around model yachting, and why knowledge gained over a lifetime is worth passing along.
