About Bespoke
Funk, Soul and Disco DJ
Growing up on a strong foundation of classic Soul and Rock Music from his parents, Elliot McCabe decided to pursue a career as a DJ at the tender age of 15 by starting his music studies at Access to Music in York.
During this time, Elliot gained more experience in the art of DJing by performing at weddings and birthdays in the surrounding areas and securing his first residency at Moko in Harrogate just after he turned eighteen.
In 2017, Elliot decided to go under the alias Bespoke and return to his roots, focusing on playing a mixture of Soul, funk, disco, and house. The Bespoke project has gained incredible traction both locally and nationally.
Bespoke is known for his masterful conductorship and dynamite track selection. Each live set lives up to his alias name as he crafts and tailors each performance with an unparalleled flair, utilizing all genre styles within his remit. An already impressive repertoire has formed through several high-profile performances.
His CV of venues includes widely acclaimed Leeds electronic music hotspot Distrikt, the underground haven Domino Club, and student hotspots such as The Wardrobe, Beaverworks, and Leeds University Student Union’s notorious Friday night Fruity.
Music production plays an important role in forming the Bespoke identity, as the project was formed between 2016 and 2019 while he was studying his degree in music production at Leeds Conservatoire.
Reflecting his vibe ethos is an ever-growing catalogue of tracks released on SupaQween Records, a label run by Aaron Casserly Stewart (member of the Grammy award-winning group The Sound of Blackness) and Larry Peace (Prince’s Tour DJ in the 90s). In a short period of time, these tracks have been supported by many people in the industry, including BBC West Yorkshire, which has featured Bespoke several times on their Introducing show.
He has also launched a new event brand called Right On, centred around his unique love for the different aspects of soul music and the art of vinyl DJing. The event series books some of the exciting up-and-coming selectors in the North of England.
Teaching is a massive part of Elliot's identity, having worked for many associations such as Leeds Conservatoire, The Music Box, and Frenchwoods Festival in New York. Now working closely with the Prince's Trust, Bespoke is on a mission to reinvent the music teaching industry with his own courses and school.
