My book "My Existential Sruggle (The First 40 Years)'' finally came out today in Hebrew and is currently in the process of being translated into English. This is the text on the back cover in Hebrew:
Ben Marmarelli is a lawyer and human rights activist who devotes a central part of his legal and public work to defending the rights of Palestinian political prisoners and to the struggle against oppression, discrimination, and violations of human dignity. Before studying law, he completed a master’s degree in sociology, and his research focused primarily on the institutional oppression of marginalized populations. In his work, he combines law, public activism, and sociological insights, seeking to make a clear voice heard in places where many choose to remain silent.
In a personal and penetrating autobiography—political, radical, philosophical, and convention-breaking—Ben Marmarelli describes the course of his life: from a rebellious child who became a sociologist and a revolutionary, and later a lawyer for “terrorists,” to someone who dedicated his life to the endless struggle against the forces of evil, against all odds, and while the entire world tries to suppress him. Marmarelli opposes all the ideologies or “religions” whose agents tried to impose them on him throughout his life, and he counts five of them: the religion of procreation, the religion of nationalism, the Jewish religion, the religion of heteronormativity, and the religion of narcophobia (the fear of drugs). Marmarelli describes his life as an endless struggle against the religious coercion of all those ideologies, which impose various strange and sadistic practices on the individual. This book, too, is part of that endless struggle.
