Last Friday, I received an automated email informing me that my YouTube channel had been permanently removed. The email included a link to appeal the decision, which I submitted immediately.
In my appeal, I made it clear that if any of my content violated YouTube’s policies, I was fully prepared to remove it and make sure nothing similar would ever be uploaded again.
What I couldn’t understand was one sentence in that email:
“Your channel has been permanently removed from YouTube. You will no longer be able to access, own, or create any YouTube channels.”
That was the part that genuinely confused me.
If the goal is to enforce the rules, shouldn’t creators be given an opportunity to correct mistakes before receiving a permanent ban from the entire platform?
That’s the question I was left with.
