About Behind the visor
Hi, I’m Paul Calies, photographer and creator of Behind the Visor.
Behind the Visor is a long term documentary project recording the people behind Britain’s motorcycle culture. Through portraiture, rider stories and personal reflections, the project explores identity, freedom, community and what motorcycling means to those who ride.
My goal is to build a permanent archive of riders from every corner of the UK, preserving their stories for future generations.
Contributions help cover travel, fuel, printing, exhibition costs, website hosting and archive development, allowing me to continue photographing riders across the country.
Every rider has a story. This project exists to tell them.
