About B. B. Hartwich
I’m B. B. Hartwich — husband, dad, and the guy who still writes after the house goes quiet.
I grew up in Denmark. In 2004 I visited Washington State and met Angela. In 2006 I moved here, married her, became a stepfather to two wonderful girls, and not long after we added a daughter and a son. Family is the real plot. Everything else is the side quest I refuse to quit.
I wrote my first book in 2008 while working security. It took four years to find an editor I trusted. Kimberly Dunn took the manuscript apart and helped me turn it into a book. That was the start.
In August 2022 I published the first volume of The James Hamill Chronicle — a five-book saga, each installment over 500 pages. Since then the shelf has grown. By 2026 I’ve published 161 books, plus box sets and more than thirty audiobooks, including The Dungeon in the Wall, Beyond the Blaze, and The Search for Atlantis, along with a lot of other fantasy and science fiction.
By day I work shipping and receiving — I started March 1, 2022 after six years as a delivery driver and an injury that forced the change. The job still puts food on the table. The nights are for stories.
When I’m not writing, I’m 3D printing, outside, prospecting, metal detecting, hunting coins, or stealing an hour of a game if the kids allow it.
