My name is Mick Prictor. I am a retired Army officer and battlefield historian. For more than 30 years, my passion has been studying and walking historic battlefields to understand what happened there and why events unfolded as they did.
I view every battlefield with a soldier's eye, and a deep knowledge of historic weapons, tactics and doctrine.
I have explored more than 260 battlefields on six continents, from the 300 Spartan's stand at Thermopylae to the siege of Dien Bien Phu and the dramatic battles at Elephant Pass, documenting each through primary source research, digital GIS mapping, imagery, field notes, and in-depth studies.
My battlefield studies are meticulously researched and in many cases (particularly for the more obscure battles) they are the definitive accounts and are recognised as such by search engines such as Google and Bing, and the AI reference layer of the internet.
