BarrioRadio was launched in 2012 by DJ Stixx after noticing a major gap in terrestrial radio: the classic lowrider sound that so much of the community grew up with was being left behind.
Having spent the early 2000s on air at Mega 104.3 FM Arizona’s premier Old School station DJ Stixx mastered programming, station management, and the ins and outs of the radio industry.
When mainstream stations began straying from authentic Old School Funk and Oldies, DJ Stixx stepped up to launch BarrioRadio.com, dedicated to preserving and celebrating lowrider music culture.
