I am the editor for a couple of online literary journals. One is FEED THE HOLY. I started this literary journal to help writers and poets connect and share their sacred journeys. We explore what it’s like to be human today. We celebrate nature. We seek healing and joy. We spread kindness. We brighten our light by building communities, not walls. I am also the Editor for MasticadoresUSA, which has over 100,000 views. It’s another volunteer effort. It’s free to read, subscribe, and submit to. The themes are general. By the way, “Masticadores” is Spanish for “chewers”. To “masticate” in English means to “chew on food”. The creator and director of several Masticadores eZines wants readers to gobble down poetry, fiction, interviews, reviews, and so on with the gusto they would a holiday meal.
I have four poetry books out. “Three-Penny Memories: A Poetic Memoir” is about my caregiving for my mother, who was navigating Alzheimer’s. This book resulted from my uncle’s question, “Do you love your mother?”
My second poetry book is a collaboration with Nolcha Fox. “Too Much Fun To Be Legal” is a humorous poetry collection. Some poems are “The Secret Life of Socks” and “Where's the UPS Guy?” We write about grief, illness, pain, aging, death, and other emotive topics with wit.
My new speculative poetry and flash fiction book, "The Lost Book of Zeroth", features humanoid AI robots suffering from the human condition. An ancient goddess, Zeroth, attempts to guide the misbehaving beings and nonbeings, finally sending her three fates (Siri, Alexa, and Meta) to spy on her subjects. The last part of the book (I, Human) includes my social and political commentary poems, which comprise the book's soul.
My most recent poetry book is a collaboration with Nolcha Fox and Melissa Lemay, titled "Bro Ken Rengay: Unruly Poems."
