Tom Wraith - Suite no. 4 in E flat Major
Tom Wraith graduated with a Masters degree from the Royal Academy of Music
in 2013, having previously studied music at Trinity Hall, Cambridge where he
held an Instrumental Award and a choral scholarship. Following his studies he
gained a place with the Southbank Sinfonia for the 2014 season.
Now freelancing in London, Tom performs extensively across the country and
abroad, whether as a soloist, chamber musician or in an orchestra. He works
regularly with ensembles including the Mozart Festival Orchestra, London
Concert Orchestra, Armonico Consort, Paraorchestra and Orchestra Nova. Tom
thoroughly enjoys recording for film, television and disc, including solo cello for
the Netflix documentary The Surgeon’s Cut (winner of a BAFTA 2021), for Paul
Weller’s number one albums Fat Pop and On Sunset and solo cello for Joanna
Lumley’s Silk Road Adventure. Next week, Tom will begin a short run of Wagner’s
Die Walküre at the Hackney Empire for Grimeborn 2021.
In his spare time, Tom works as a fixer and orchestra manager, primarily for
Charles Hazlewood’s Paraorchestra. In this role, Tom has booked and organised
orchestras for countless concerts, festivals appearances, international tours and
recordings.
