Japan won two games held in Europe, including a 4-1 win against Germany last October.
Japanese soccer has become a big issue not only on and off the field. This is because Japanese fans cleaned the stands after the German and Turkic games held in Germany and Belgium, respectively.
It was even reported that the Japanese spectators collected all the trash left by regular spectators as well as the away area they used and collected it next to the trash can.
European media gave praise. Turkic media outlet 'Sportscell' noted, "Japanese fans started cleaning their surroundings first rather than feeling the afterglow of victory after the game. They are a people who are polite and take care of others."
Another Turkic media outlet, Panatic, also explained, “The Japanese made the Turkic people, who were worried about losing the game, think about many other things.”
Japan also attracted attention from soccer fans around the world at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by carrying garbage bags to clean the stands at each game.
