About B.J. MEDIA

YouTube videos, documentaries and articles.

We are a free, independent media outlet. Created in March 2022 by migrants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. As of February 11, 2025, we are transforming into a video content production company. More details in the "About Us" post.

Documentary film "The Gene of Dissent"

We are pleased to announce the start of production on a documentary film, working titled "The Gene of Dissent: From the USSR to the Present Day" (formerly titled "Dissidents in the USSR"). The film explores the journey of dissidents from Soviet times to the present day, from kitchen debates to punitive psychiatry, drawing a chilling parallel with the contemporary struggle for justice in Russia. The story of resistance—from the Gulag to the present—is not over as long as the thirst for freedom endures!

Read more in the post: “What is the film “The Gene of Dissent: From the USSR to the Present Day” about?”

Dedication

This film is dedicated to the courageous Soviet dissidents whose resilience continues to inspire, even as some face renewed persecution today. We also honor modern-day Russian heroes who fight tirelessly for freedom and justice, striving to build, as Alexei Navalny said, "The Beautiful Russia of the future."

Why is it important for us to make a documentary about dissidents in the USSR and modern Russia?

We are producing this documentary to educate and inform a global audience about dissidents from the Soviet era to the present day. We recount their courage in resisting authoritarian authorities and highlight the relevance of their struggle. By telling their stories, we strive to preserve their legacy, remind everyone of the risks of unchecked power, and inspire future generations to defend freedom and human rights.
