THE COLONY

Dec 24, 2024

It was a very big important project for me, but in fact, this project is ongoing. I have created a unique project about Crimea, colonized, occupied, broken into pieces, polluted by the stench and blood of the invader, about a colonized personality who recalls the language of truth and his or her “face”. This project is about me and my world, my true birth and my true sound. My idea was to tell about Crimea in Tunisia, an Arab country that was the first in the world to abolish slavery and inspired the Arab world to revolutionize and fight for their own freedoms and rights. The first Ukrainian project, a Crimean Tatar project of this scale and depth on the African continent. And I will say that it was not easy, many difficulties and challenges stood in my way. From a visa that required me to travel abroad, to Bucharest, twice, to re-purchasing tickets for another month due to a long visa waiting period and a canceled performance in September. Thanks to the support of the trip to Tunisia @culturemoveseurope from Goethe Institut and the faith in this project @danseurs_citoyensud, I also really believed in the strength of my idea, thank you with all my heart for being the ones who supported it! But to make The Colony happen, I had to put in a lot of resources and effort, three times more than in standard projects of small districts in peaceful countries.

It is thanks to my friends who supported me in the realization of this project that The Colony has become so large. Without them, it would not have been possible Khoubeib Trabelsi, who helped with the installation and coordination of the project on site, put a lot of effort and will, Olga Pinavieva, who helped make the multimedia, Yulia Bilynska, who inspired and guided me through this project, told me how to apply, how to fill it with meaning, inspired me to believe in myself all this time, Thomas (who guided me in the plastic practice of this performance, did not leave me for a second, Alex Shulga who did a heartfelt mastering of the soundrecord, when I heard him balance the drums, I wanted to cry, it was a miracle.

And of course, the best patriotic conscious community of rollers and Rick's team who supported me on my way, thank you with all my heart, without you I simply would not have survived. Bless you friends! I will never forget this input and contribution and will keep working hard. We will definitely see a sequel. And I want to play it in Ukraine and in other countries of the world. But I will have to paint all the pictures again, do everything from scratch. But it's worth it! I will fight for my Crimea!!! I will fight for my parents and ancestors. Because a person cannot live without honor and freedom. Because without honor and freedom, it is an animal life that does not know compassion. But this will never happen.

I have great faith in our people.

I believe in the power of thought, which can build worlds and become a weaponimage
