When I started creating it was unclear to me what I needed to do.
I thought I needed a ton of different skills:
Sales
Design
Coding
Marketing
Web design
Copywriting
Video editing
Offer creation
Product creation
Animating videos
Creating AI prompts
And in an ideal world, you have all these skills.
But you don't need all of them to become a full-time creator.
Not even close.
You can get there with just one skill.
Because this one skill will make you better at every other skill above.
You see, in order to become a full-time creator, you need to optimize:
Your content
Your emails
Your offers
Your products
And all of this can be done with one skill.
This skill is writing.
So in this post, I'm going to explain why this is and how you can develop this skill so that you can use it to become a full-time creator.
Let's dive into it.

The Foundation Of All Media
Writing is the foundation of all content.
You can create :
Podcasts
Videos
Newsletters
Threads
Carousels
Long forms
Tweets
Images
Shorts
All of these are either long-form, medium-form, or short-form content.
Here's a visual that will make it clearer:
The visual shows all of the types of content that you can create.
And all of these are usually based on writing.
Let's take a look at the different types of content.
Long-Form Content
For long-form content we have:
Podcasts
Videos
Newsletters
A good video needs a script, or at least an outline.
The same is true for podcasts.
Andrew Huberman doesn't just randomly start recording.
He writes down the outline and the points that he wants to cover, and then he talks about it.
Dan Koe does this with newsletters.
He writes a newsletter, and then he uses this as a video script.
And a lot of other big YouTubers that I know write scripts first, and then they turn it into videos.
So all long-form content starts with writing.
Medium-Form Content
For the medium-form content we have:
Threads
Carousels
Long-forms
Threads are written.
Carousel are images with text.
And long-forms are basically longer tweets or mini newsletters.
So again, all of this is based on writing.
Short-Form Content
This is also true for short-form content.
We have tweets, which are just written.
We have images, which are usually contain a short text, or it can even just be screenshots of tweets.
And we have shorts, which are usually scripted animations or clips from longer form content (which were also scripted).
So as you can see, writing is the foundation of all media.
That's why you need to get really good at writing.
But writing is not just the foundation of all content, it's also the foundation of your business.
Let me explain.
The Foundation Of Business
You need a few things to make money.
Let's simplify it by looking at this image:
It has 3 layers, let's talk about what you need for all of them.
Layer 1 - Leverage
Layer 1 is about getting attention and building leverage.
It contains:
Content
Newsletters
Lead magnets
All of them are based on writing.
We already talked about the social media content and newsletters.
Then we have the lead magnets.
A lead magnet is a small product that you give to people for free.
The goal is to grow your email list and to get potential customers.
Lead magnets can be:
Ebooks
Templates
Worksheets
Small courses
All of these things are based on some form of writing.
Layer 2 - Monetization
Layer 2 is about monetizing.
It contains:
Offers
Salespages
Sales emails
All of these need to be written.
Offers can be Google Docs
Sales pages are text (and a scripted VSL)
Sales emails are just text
That's why you need to understand copywriting.
Which basically just means using writing to convert attention into sales.
Layer 3: Delivery
And then we have the delivery.
It contains:
Products
Community
Service
Usually this contains a lot of text, videos and resources.
And again, all of these are based on writing.
Hopefully this is getting repetitive because that means that you now understand that writing is the meta skill that you need as a creator.
It improves your content, newsletters, offers, and products.
And this will massively grow your audience and income.
----------------------------------------------------
There's a lot to writing, but I'm going to simplify it for you:
Writing is the art of grabbing, holding, and converting attention.
So in the next part, I'm going to explain:
How you can grab attention with hooks
How you can hold attention with Aesthetic Writing
How you can convert attention with offers
I'll focus on the basics because I don't want this post to get too long.

----------------------------------------------------
Hooks (Grab Attention)
The goal of the hook is to grab attention.
This is getting harder because attention spans are getting worse.
There's a lot to hooks.
But whether it's a tweet, a video, a thumbnail, or a headline, it all comes down to one thing:
Making people want to figure out what happens next.
If you can do this, they keep on reading and watching.
This is a bit abstract, so let me give you the 5 most important things you can do to achieve this:
Usefulness. Focus on one useful idea
Relevance. Make it relevant for your ideal reader
Awareness. Make sure your ideal reader is aware of it
Emotion. Target emotions like curiosity, excitement, or fear
Results. Highlight the benefits they'll get if they read your post
The more of these you use in your hooks, the better your hooks will be.
Aesthetic Writing (Hold Attention)
The goal of Aesthetic Writing is to hold attention.
You optimize your writing for readability.
It's basically the writing equivalent of video editing.
The goal is to make it easy and enjoyable to read your content.
It's about communicating information in a simple, efficient, and enjoyable way.
Aesthetic Writing is like dating.
The better it looks, the more attention it holds.
Think of it as 'optimizing the reader experience'.
There's a lot that you can do for this, and I have an entire writing program about this that helped me gain 10,000 Threads followers in 14 months, but I'm going to explain the 5 most important things that you can do.
White space. Makes it easier to read
Simplicity. Makes it simple to understand
Storytelling. Makes your content entertaining
Vary sentence length. Keeps people engaged
Bullet points. Makes your content skimmable
The more of the Aesthetic Writing principles you use, the better your content will perform.
Offers (Convert Attention)
The goal of offers is to convert attention.
It's how you turn the attention that your content gets into email subscribers, customers, or clients.
There's a lot to this, but here are the 5 main things your offer needs to include:
Outcome. What it does
Path. How it does this
Timeframe. How fast it does this
Differentiator. How it’s different
Reason to act now. Why they should act now
It's important to include all 5 of these things in your offers.
When you do, you convert a lot more attention into sales.
So hopefully this post explained the importance of writing and how you can become a better writer.
