Hello, I’m Ayse — artist, printmaker and mum, creating from my little studio in Barcelona.
I create original hand-pulled relief prints inspired by nature, wildlife, history, patterns, and the quiet beauty I find in everyday life.
I studied printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art, where I explored a range of traditional printmaking techniques before falling in love with relief printing. There is something about carving a block, rolling out the ink and pulling a print by hand that I find incredibly satisfying — slow, tactile and completely hands-on.
My creative journey hasn't always been straightforward. I'm also a mum, and for several years much of my time and energy went into raising my son, Tierra. My printmaking tools were put away for a while as motherhood became my priority.
Now, as my son is growing older, I'm finding my way back to printmaking — with fresh ideas, a renewed sense of inspiration, and a much deeper appreciation for the creative time I have.
Tierra Colours & Prints is named after my son, and in many ways this little creative business is part of that journey too.
Here on Buy Me a Coffee, I'll be sharing the things that happen behind the finished prints — sketches, carving, experiments, studio moments, new ideas and the occasional glimpse into life as a printmaker and mum.
I'm also planning to create small original prints and snail-mail surprises for supporters, so you'll have the chance to receive a little piece of my artwork directly from my studio in Barcelona.
